The city is located in the eastern part of
the Burgas lowland. The city is located in the westernmost
point of the Black Sea. Burgas gives the name of a bay,
which is the largest on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. The
town is surrounded by the lakes Burgas, Atanasovsko and
Mandrensko and the Black Sea. Verli Bryag Peak is the
highest point of Burgas - 209 m.  The climate in Burgas and the
region is characterized as humid subtropical with sea and
continental influence.Pelicans, herons and various species of geese live in the lakes near Burgas. Glaruses can be seen almost everywhere in the city.  Lidiya
