In 1887 population of Burgas was 5700. In
1910 increased and it was 14900 residents. With over 200,000
residents, Burgas is the fourth most populous city in
Bulgaria after Sofia, Plovdiv and Varna. In Burgas there are
some differences in ethnicity.The actual population of the
city is less than 200,000 because of migration and people
with Burgas registration. The largest religious community is that of Bulgarian Orthodox Christians, followed by the Muslim one. Other religious communities in the city are Bulgarian Catholics. Lidiya
